It’s a Crisp morning, a soft blanket of frost covers the grass, and the streets are empty except for those early risers. There is something special about an early morning run when the temperatures begin to drop. The experience is hard to explain, but if you are a runner, you find peace in these moments. Running is a dedication to yourself and your health and the commitment is one to be celebrated.
Ever since an early age, running was part of my life. Whether attending the annual Bull Run 5K in my father’s hometown, Belle Plaine, or the first time I joined a cross-country team where I finally understood the phrase “kindred spirits.” From family bonding to exploring countries in a new way, to making everlasting friends, running brings joy and adventure to my life.
Do you have a serious runner in your life? If you do, you know there is endless gear to gift. For example, runners often spend a long time picking out the perfect pair of shoes. They continually buy the same style over and over until it gets discontinued (you can’t even begin to imagine the disappointment)! As serious as runners are about their GPS watches, shorts with the perfect pockets, and favorite electrolyte supplements (the list goes on), they often do not put the same importance on their socks. But I am here to tell you, they should.
Early in my running career, no one mentioned to me what a great sock could do. Had I known that the BAL8924 existed, my spikes would have felt much more comfortable, and who knows, maybe I would have shaved off a couple of seconds on that PR. Below, I have compiled a list of my go-to sock picks to treat your favorite runner so they can focus less on their feet, and more on that PR.
